What's New with MacVol
August 2, 1997: version 1.3
- MacVol now supports non-cubic voxels -- an additional
"Z Spacing" field has been added to cover the common case of
slice spacing different from pixel width/height
June 23, 1997: version 1.2
- bug fixed: a memory leak was causing 128 bytes to be lost on
every rendering
- added live hypertext link on the About Box (requires Internet Config)
March 24, 1997: version 1.1
- bug fixed: using the "Windows" menu did not fully select the
desired window, leading to strange behavior in other menus
March 21, 1997: version 1.0
MacVol is finished! If you need additional features,
let me know and I'll put them on
the list for future versions. But everything appears to be working
stably. The only change from the last version is that you can now
open volumes by dropping them onto the MacVol icon. (Note that if you
had a previous version of MacVol, you may need to rebuild your desktop
before this will work.)
March 3, 1997: version 0.9.1 (maintenance release)
- bug fixed (free memory over 32MB was not properly displayed)
- opacity-function control pane made bigger
- preferences implemented
February 18, 1997: version 0.9
- now reads TIFF files!
- bug fixed (applying new opacity function did not cause it to be recomputed)
February 10, 1997: version 0.8
- added Settings menu
- settings are now saved with the rendering file
- pressing "R" or command-R invokes the Render button
February 2, 1997: version 0.7
- output-size lock function now maintains square aspect ratio;
output size defaults to 2*MAX(inWidth, inHeight)
- fixed memory leak, causing memory to be lost on each rendering
- more graceful handling of low-memory conditions
- more scripting keywords added
- improved the "Slow Rotate" script
- this "What's New" page created, serving as news and revision history
